This is an oral history interview with Donald Stemmans conducted as part of the Houston History Project. Don Stemmans was born in 1936 near Carencro. He spent 16 years in the oilfields for Superior Oil Company, then quit to shoe horses and work at the racetrack. The oil industry treated him well, they paid well, and had excellent benefits. He discusses various experiences from his days in the oilfields and on the rigs. Interviewer: David DiTucci.
