This is an oral history interview with Howard Middleton conducted as part of the Houston History Project. Howard Middleton is from Centerville, Texas. Throughout his career, he served as an educator, public servant, and consultant. He was the first black man to be appointed as Port Commissioner (1976-1994). Interviewer: Jason P. Theriot.
