Summary
This is an oral history interview with Bruce S. Applebaum conducted as part of the Houston History Project. Bruce Applebaum retired from Texaco following its merger with Chevron.  He had been vice president of Texaco and president of the company's Worldwide Exploration and New Ventures.  Prior to joining Texaco in 1990, Applebaum had held positions for several independent oil and gas companies, including exploration manager with Sun Oil and Texas Eastern, domestic exploration manager for SEDCO Energy, and division exploration manager for Union Pacific Resources.  He was born in Buffalo, NY in 1947 and received a B.A. in geology from SUNY-Buffalo and a doctorate in geological oceanography from Texas A&M. Interviewer: Tyler Priest.
